Hair Restoration with Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) Injections bring new hair into life!  Its power to create neovascularization that promotes healing. Thus repairing the problem, hair loss or thinning of the hair.
Pattern hair loss, also known as androgenetic alopecia (AGA), is caused by genetic and environmental factors.  Most research on PRP to treat hair loss has focused on AGA. Also referred as hormone-related baldness, this is a condition that can affect both male and female. In men with AGA, hair loss typically happens on the top and front of the head. In women, thinning occurs on the top and crown of the head.  Evidence suggests that PRP works best at the first stage of hair loss when hair starts to get thinner or to fall.
Although PRP is still at its infancy, it seems to wake up dormant stem cells in the hair follicles. This has the potential to become the next major breakthrough in the treatment of hair restoration.
PRP therapy involves drawing a client's own blood and injecting plasma, which contains growth factors, into the person's hair follicles.  Microneedling in addition to injections of powerfully high concentration of platelets produce the best outcome.
" I have been observing people's hair follicles become thicker in diameter.  I also see increase in the number of hair follicles" said Livia Manner, FNP-BC.
